Why Commemoration Matters Today
Yitzhak Rabin’s assassination on November 4, 1995, was a watershed moment in Israeli history and has had a profound impact on Israeli society and the global Jewish community.
Rabin was a leader who worked toward peace, security, democracy, and coexistence, and his death symbolized not only the loss of a leader but also a dangerous erosion of our Jewish shared values.

Why Commemoration Matters Today: In today’s complex political climate, Rabin’s vision of peace, democracy, and security remains as relevant as ever. This 30th Memorial Day provides an opportunity to reignite the conversation around his values, particularly as the challenges facing Israeli society and the World Jewish community have grown more acute.
As Diaspora Jewry faces growing internal challenges alongside Israel’s political and security upheavals, now is the time to revive Rabin Memorial Day. This day can once again serve as a vital symbol for Jews worldwide.

“Rabin Way: Dare to Dream” is powered by the Zionist Enterprises Department at WZO and aims to reestablish Rabin Memorial Day as a shared symbol for Jews Worldwide standing for democracy, security and peace.
